May 20th Gathering Information

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Transforming lives & restoring hope are not just taglines for the Wesleyan Covenant Association (WCA) especially here in Western Pennsylvania. We seek to connect Spirit-filled, orthodox churches, clergy, and laity who hold to Wesleyan theology as we share the deep desire to become a vibrant, faithful, growing 21st century church. We are excited about what God is doing and where God is leading us.

With that in mind, we are offering two regional gatherings to provide opportunities for worship and prayer as so many are preparing to make a turn to the next faithful step in which God is calling them.

May 20 @ 10:00 am – Lakeside UMC

420 1st St in DuBois

May 20 @ 4:00 pm – Charter Oak UMC

449 Frye Farm Rd in Greensburg

The keynote speaker for these events is Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Greenway who serves as President Pro Tempore of the Allegheny West Provisional Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church. After 35 years in the United Methodist Church, Dr. Jeff Greenway became an elder in the Global Methodist Church in January of 2023.

He is currently the Lead Pastor of Reynoldsburg Community Church, a Global Methodist Congregation in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Prior to his 2006 appointment to that congregation, he served as President of Asbury Theological Seminary, Superintendent of the Pittsburgh East District of the Western Pennsylvania Conference, and as Pastor of congregations in Butler and Erie, Pennsylvania.

Jeff has a passion for seeing people come to a saving faith relationship with Jesus Christ. He believes that every member of the Body has a distinctive role and function in ministry. Through his commitment to Christ-centered, Bible-based teaching, Jeff leads the church to become all that God has intended and equipped them to be. He is a gifted leader, preacher, teacher, and servant.

Another opportunity for gathering and fellowship will be offered during Annual Conference on Friday, June 16, during our lunch break. All are welcome to come and join in this as well.

Our prayers are for our Bishop and Conference leadership seeking ways to bless and send churches and clergy honoring their theological convictions. Our prayers are also extended for all of the delegates to both the Special Called Annual Conference on June 14 as well as the regular session of Annual Conference June 15-17 and all the churches that our delegates represent.

Now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Serving in Jesus’ name,

Rev. Laura A. Saffell, Chairperson
